TRACE MATERIAL
Retired pieces.
Trials and near-misses.
Forms that changed direction.
Some made it to the shop, some didn’t.
But all of it helped shape the work.
Remnants, fragments, half-formed thoughts.
Notes from the road.
Ideas that left a mark.
A cup at rest
Painting always felt separate. A cup doesn't. You pick it up without thinking. You learn its weight, where the rim lands, and how it holds heat.
Two Surfaces
Carbon trap Shino is not a predictable glaze. The exterior looks like something that spent time underground — mossy, muted, slightly dark. The interior fires clean. Two surfaces. One firing. Neither can be controlled.
