A handmade stoneware vase in carbon trap Shino glaze. The kiln atmosphere pulled the surface into mossy green with a vertical stripe of peach and cream where the carbon didn't catch. Fine crackle runs through the entire ceramic surface. The interior is traditional rusty Shino — warm, dark, and reactive.
This surface cannot be replicated. Carbon trapping is a negotiation between glaze, kiln atmosphere, and chance. The geometry is controlled. Everything else is the firing's decision.
